Does your putter actually fit you?

Does your putter actually fit you?

Around 40% of your strokes in a round happen on the green. Yet most golfers buy a putter the way they buy an umbrella: whatever felt fine in the shop.

A putter fitting treats those strokes with the seriousness they deserve.

What we measure

At Champ du Golf we use SAM PuttLab, an ultrasound analysis system that records your putting stroke in detail no eye can match: face angle at impact, stroke path, rotation, rhythm, impact point on the face. Twenty putts on our dedicated putting area produce a complete profile of how you actually roll the ball.

What usually turns up

Most players who come in have a mismatch somewhere:

  • A putter too long or too short, forcing eyes off the ball line.
  • A lie angle that leaves the toe or heel hanging in the air.
  • A head shape that fights the natural arc of the stroke. Strong arcs suit a blade; straight-back strokes suit a mallet.
  • A grip that lets the face rotate too much through impact.

None of these are swing faults. They're equipment faults, and they're fixable in an afternoon.

Try before anything

We keep a range of Odyssey putters at the club, current models included, so you can test different head shapes and lengths against your own stroke data on the same surface. When the numbers and the feel agree, you've found your putter. If your current one already fits, the data will say so, and you've lost nothing but an hour.

Fewer putts is the cheapest handicap improvement there is. Book a fitting at champdugolf.ro/booking.
