The Monthly League: how it works and why it makes you better

Practice without stakes has a ceiling. At some point you need a scorecard that counts, and that's what the Monthly League is for.

The format

Each month the league is played on one world-famous course, rendered on our TrackMan simulators. Past editions have taken members to Casa de Campo's Teeth of the Dog, Royal County Down, Royal Birkdale, Medinah and Kawana in Japan, courses most golfers never get to stand on.

You play your league rounds whenever suits you during the month; book a bay, tell reception it's a league round, and your score goes on the leaderboard. No fixed tee times, no group obligations. The leaderboard runs all month, and the best players take home golf vouchers.

Why it works on your game

A league round is different from a practice session in one way that matters: every shot counts and you can't rake another ball over. Playing a full course under scoring pressure exposes the parts of your game that drills hide, the 60-meter half wedge, the must-make putt, the tee shot with water on the right.

The simulator adds something the outdoor equivalent can't: your full round data is on TrackMan afterwards. You see exactly which distances leaked strokes and can build next week's practice on it.

Points that add up

League results feed the Golfer of the Year standings, our season-long competition. Consistent monthly play is how the title is won, and the race regularly comes down to the final weeks.

New to the club? The league is open to everyone, and playing partners are easy to find on Wednesday game nights. Ask at reception which course is on this month, or book a round at champdugolf.ro/booking.
