How to learn golf from scratch

You don't need a course, your own equipment or any experience to start golf. In Romania you can learn indoors, on a simulator, with precise data on every shot — here is the shortest path from zero to your first proper swing.

Step 1 — a first simulator session

Book an hour on the TrackMan simulator and hit your first balls. The system instantly shows the speed, angle and flight of every shot, and clubs are provided.

Step 2 — lessons with a PGA professional

A few lessons early on prevent bad habits that are hard to fix later. At Champ du Golf you work with Dimitri Chaynes, a PGA professional, with TrackMan analysis on every shot.

Step 3 — practise consistently

Progress comes from repetition: the virtual driving range, rounds on famous courses and TrackMan data showing exactly what changed between sessions. Hour packages make regular practice cheaper.

Step 4 — clubs that fit your swing

Once your strike becomes consistent, a data-driven fitting shows exactly which clubs suit you — shaft, lie, loft and grip chosen from your numbers, not a catalogue.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to learn golf?

The basics of a correct swing settle in over the first lessons; consistency comes with practice. The simulator's advantage is that you see progress in numbers, session by session.

Can I start directly on the simulator, without lessons?

Yes — you can play at your own pace from the first visit. Lessons, however, speed up progress and prevent bad habits.

Do I need to buy clubs?

Not at the start: we provide clubs for all sessions. Your own set makes sense later, ideally after a fitting.
