Golfer of the Year: the season-long race explained

Golfer of the Year: the season-long race explained

Every club has its regulars who quietly wonder who the best player in the room is. We settle it properly: a competition that runs the whole season and crowns one Golfer of the Year.

How the race works

Points come from playing our competitions through the year, above all the Monthly League rounds on the simulators. Play consistently, place well, and your total builds month over month. The standings are published regularly, so you always know where you sit and who's behind you.

The structure rewards two things: showing up all season, and playing well when it counts. One hot month won't win it. Neither will twelve mediocre ones.

What winners look like

Past races have stayed open into the final weeks, with the top players separated by a handful of points. Champions tend to share a pattern: they play nearly every monthly league, they know their carry distances cold, and they putt better than their handicap suggests. The trophy is presented together with our Club Championship honors at the end of the season.

Why enter even if you won't win

The leaderboard does something useful to your golf: it makes every round count for something beyond itself. Players who enter the race practice with more intention, track their numbers, and improve faster than those who only play casually. Mid-table this year, contender next year is a story we've watched happen.

The race is open to all members and regular players. Ask at reception for the current standings, then book your next league round at champdugolf.ro/booking. The title is decided by the people who show up.
