How a club fitting works at Champ du Golf
"Fitting" sounds like something reserved for scratch players. In practice, the less consistent your swing, the more a fitting helps, because badly matched clubs punish inconsistency hardest.
Here is exactly what happens in a session.
Step 1: the conversation
We start with your game, not your clubs. What you play now, your typical miss, what hurts: distance, direction, or contact. Ten minutes of honest answers shape the rest of the hour.
Step 2: testing on TrackMan
You hit your own clubs first, so we have a baseline in numbers: ball speed, launch, spin, dispersion. Then you test alternatives with different shafts, lofts and lie angles while the radar records every shot. We also keep the Callaway Quantum fitting kit at the club, so current-generation heads and shafts are on hand to try, and available to buy if they win.
The comparison is side by side and in numbers. Not "this feels nice", but "this carries 8 meters further with half the dispersion".
Step 3: the recommendation
You leave with a written spec: shaft type and flex, length, lie angle, loft, grip size. Use it to order new clubs, or to adjust the ones you own. Sometimes the honest recommendation is a 2-degree lie adjustment on your existing irons, which costs almost nothing.
Who it's for
Beginners get clubs that don't teach them bad habits. Mid-handicappers usually find 10 to 20 meters and a tighter shot pattern. Low players fine-tune gaps and trajectory. The one group it doesn't help: golfers whose clubs already match perfectly. The data will tell you that too.
A fitting takes about an hour. Book one at champdugolf.ro/booking.
